What is Auxílio Brasil and how does it work?

As we already said, it's just a new name for what you already know: a social benefit for needy families. Unfortunately, this is the case for more than 17 million Brazilian families.

Contrary to what many people think, this allowance is so that people don't work. On the contrary, Auxílio Brasil is so that people can support themselves and seek better living conditions in the meantime.

It is the Ministry of Citizenship that controls Auxílio Brasil and passes the amounts in cash to the benefiting families. The objectives are to guarantee a minimum income so that people can have a more dignified life. Access the official benefit website to know more.

Who can receive this assistance?

Families registered with Brazil can receive Auxílio Brasil. Single Registration and that fit the following rules: have a family income per person of up to R$ 105.00 (one hundred and five reais) or between R$ 105.01 and R$ 210.00 (one hundred and five reais and one cent and two hundred and ten reais ). 

To find out if your family receives these amounts, take the calculator on your cell phone and add up the income of each family member. Then, divide the total income between ALL family members, including children and babies.

If your family fits the profiles above, you can receive Auxílio Brasil. Just keep your CadÚnico records up to date or register for the first time on Cadúnico official website. Don't forget to always update your data whenever you change address, change income, a family member dies or a child is born or adopted. 

It is very important that you understand that it is not enough to register to start receiving: the Government will confirm the data that you and your family registered to authorize receiving Brazil Aid. If they deny the benefit, you can go to your city's City Hall to contest the decision or better understand what happened. Right?

How to receive Brazil Aid?

Your family will be able to receive Auxílio Brasil payments with Caixa Econômica Federal or Banco do Brasil accounts. One of them is the Accounting Account, exclusive for this assistance.

When you register with CadÚnico, a Caixa Social Savings Account is automatically opened in the name of the Family Responsible that you enter in CadÚnico. This person is the one who will receive the money.

It is also possible to withdraw Auxílio Brasil money with old Bolsa Família cards at any Caixa branch. If you have a problem, look for the nearest Caixa or City Hall in your city.
